How much do I charge for my listing?

How much do I charge for my listing?

This is a very tough question, especially since the Dock Skipper platform is still young.  In the end, the price you set is entirely up to you but here are some recommendations in order to get a better idea:

  1. Determine whether you will be charging a flat fee or by vessel length, as this is probably the first decision that needs to be made.
  2. Call local marinas and docks and ask what they charge for short term and long term stays.  Ask if they upcharge for certain amenities such as electricity, fresh water, showers, wifi, etc..
  3. Determine your amenities – will you be providing electricity, fresh water, showers, wifi, etc.?  Do you want to build that into the initial price or would you rather offer them as upcharges if the guest needs them?
  4. You are required to set a daily price but do you want to offer discounts to guests that book a stay for 7 days or more?  What about 30 days or more?

In the end, the final price will be based on the competition in the area, the amenities you’re offering, and the term of the stay.  Obviously setting the price lower can result in more bookings!
